The IT-Service of the Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum is a central contact point to support the daily work of all employees. Its task is to ensure the smooth functioning of all DP systems and to answer all questions of our employees concerning EDP issues. The IT-Service is in charge of the maintainance of the server infrastructure of the BGBM. This server infrastructure hosts all research related databases and softwares of the BGBM and is at the core of many national and international scientific projects. The range of the softwares maintained by the IT-Service and necessary for the functioning of the BGBM include, besides the standard applications, scientific databases, financial applications as well as CAD-based applications.
